Descrizione dell'iniziativa
The course will cover the basics of microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, such as Light Microscopy (LM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Principles of operation will be given, followed by examples in the instructors research work in fuel cells and electrolyzers. Some advanced approaches in automatic image processing will be touched upon. The course will be held by Prof. Jasna Jankovic (Materials Science and Engineering Department, University of Connecticut).
The course will consist of lectures, "hands-on" practice on simulation modules, and student presentations focusing on applications of the techniques to hydrogen technologies, like fuel cell and electrolyzer field, reported in the literature. Students will be evaluated based on the knowledge and comprehensiveness of the group presentations, as well as on the responses to a short "challenge" problem. The final grade is just passed/failed.

Tutti i giorni della settimana dal 09/06/25 al 13/06/25 per due ore al giorno, preferibilmente nella fascia oraria 10.15-12.15. Inoltre solo se possible, aula nel pomeriggio per le attivitĂ degli studenti per 3 ore al giorno, es. 14:15-17:15.
