Descrizione dell'iniziativa
The Hydrogen Economy (HE) is the economy of the near future, but its implementation faces political, scientific, and techno-economic challenges. This course discusses the current challenges of the HE and covers the fundamental principles of operation of the state-of-the-art technologies for water electrolysis, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage. The current status of the H2-based technologies is critically discussed and the future prospectives in their development are outlined. The course also covers the methods for synthesis and characterization of advanced electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and metal hydrides for hydrogen storage.
The course is organized in few lectures, for total 8 hours, as well as in student-prepared presentations focused on the state-of-the-art water electrolyzers, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage technologies.
The course is given by prof. Stoyan Bliznakov from University of Connecticut, USA.
